Description

The Education Administrator provides leadership, oversight, and daily management of JJD Learning Academy’s K–12 educational program. This position is responsible for ensuring that students receive organized, individualized, high-quality academic instruction within a safe, professional, and supportive learning environment.

The Education Administrator supervises educational staff, oversees curriculum implementation, monitors lesson planning and student academic progress, maintains educational records, supports enrollment and academic placement, communicates with families, and ensures educational operations remain consistent with JJD Learning Academy policies and applicable requirements.

Because JJD Learning Academy serves students with diverse academic, developmental, behavioral, and communication needs, the Education Administrator must promote effective collaboration between educational staff, families, administration, ABA professionals, and other service providers while ensuring that educational and clinical responsibilities remain appropriately defined.

Requirements

Minimum Education Requirements
A completed four-year bachelor's degree is required for the Education Administrator position.

Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in an appropriate field such as:

Applicants who do not possess a completed four-year bachelor's degree in an appropriate field do not meet the minimum educational qualifications for this position.

Experience Requirements
Candidates should possess:
  • Previous professional experience working in a K–12 educational environment.
  • Previous teaching, instructional, or educational-program experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with lesson planning, curriculum implementation, and academic assessment.
  • Experience monitoring student academic progress.
  • Experience communicating professionally with parents and caregivers.
  • Strong written documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise and provide constructive feedback to educational employees.
Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral needs, learning disabilities, or other exceptional educational needs is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in an education-related field.
  • Current or previous North Carolina teaching license.
  • School administration or educational leadership experience.
  • Previous lead teacher, instructional coach, curriculum coordinator, assistant administrator, or education administrator experience.
  • Experience with private school, homeschool, micro-school, or alternative educational programs.
  • Experience supervising K–12 teachers.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary educational or behavioral-service environments.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

The Education Administrator will:
  • Provide direct leadership and supervision to K–12 Teachers and assigned educational staff.
  • Oversee the daily operations of JJD Learning Academy's educational program.
  • Establish clear expectations for educational staff regarding instruction, professionalism, documentation, attendance, student supervision, and communication.
  • Conduct regular educational staff meetings.
  • Provide teachers with coaching, feedback, resources, and administrative support.
  • Monitor employee performance and address performance concerns in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and training educational staff.
  • Assist with developing teacher schedules and classroom assignments.
  • Coordinate substitute or instructional coverage when educational staff are absent.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and supervision throughout the instructional day.
  • Maintain professional communication between the educational department and executive leadership.
  • Report significant educational, staffing, student, family, safety, or operational concerns to executive leadership.
  • Assist with developing and implementing educational policies and procedures.
  • Promote accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and consistency throughout the educational department.
Curriculum and Instructional Oversight
The Education Administrator is responsible for ensuring the educational program maintains organized and appropriate curriculum and instructional practices.

Responsibilities include:
  • Oversee curriculum implementation for students in grades K–12.
  • Ensure curriculum and instructional materials are appropriate for student grade levels and educational needs.
  • Review teacher lesson plans for quality, organization, instructional objectives, and alignment with student needs.
  • Establish expectations and deadlines for weekly and daily lesson planning.
  • Ensure teachers provide instruction in required core academic areas.
  • Monitor the quality of classroom instruction.
  • Conduct classroom observations.
  • Provide instructional feedback and coaching to teachers.
  • Support differentiated instruction for students performing at different academic levels.
  • Identify instructional resources needed by teachers and students.
  • Assist teachers in developing academic interventions for students requiring additional support.
  • Promote instructional strategies that increase student engagement, independence, and academic achievement.
  • Monitor completion of curriculum requirements throughout the academic year.
Student Academic Assessment and Progress Monitoring
The Education Administrator will oversee procedures for evaluating and documenting student academic performance.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate initial academic assessments and placement activities.
  • Review student academic records when available.
  • Assist with identifying appropriate instructional levels.
  • Establish procedures for ongoing student progress monitoring.
  • Review assessment results and student performance data.

Teacher Supervision
The Education Administrator provides direct supervision and support to educational staff.

  • Monitor teacher attendance, punctuality, preparedness, and professionalism.
  • Review lesson plans and instructional documentation.
  • Conduct classroom observations.
  • Provide written and verbal performance feedback.

Classroom Management and Student Support
The Education Administrator will support teachers in establishing structured, safe, and productive classrooms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support teachers with classroom-management strategies.
  • Promote positive reinforcement and proactive student-support practices.
  • Assist staff when student behaviors significantly interfere with learning or create safety concerns.

  • Collaborate with ABA clinical staff when students receive behavioral services.
  • Maintain appropriate separation between educational instruction and clinical ABA treatment.
  • Ensure educational staff do not independently modify clinical behavior plans or implement clinical procedures outside their assigned scope and training.
Student Safety and Facility Responsibilities
The Education Administrator shares responsibility for maintaining a safe educational environment.

The Education Administrator must:
  • Ensure students are appropriately supervised throughout the educational day.
  • Monitor arrival, dismissal, classroom transitions, breaks, and other educational activities.
  • Ensure staff follow student sign-in/sign-out and release procedures.
  • Respond promptly to safety concerns.
  • Ensure incidents and injuries are documented and reported appropriately.
  • Ensure staff follow emergency and crisis procedures.
  • Ensure required emergency information is accessible to appropriate personnel.
  • Report suspected abuse or neglect in accordance with applicable reporting requirements and organizational policy.
  • Coordinate with facility administration regarding environmental or facility concerns affecting students.
  • Promote clean, organized, professional, and developmentally appropriate classrooms.
Educational Records and Documentation
The Education Administrator will establish and monitor procedures for maintaining accurate educational records.

The Education Administrator will periodically review documentation for completeness, accuracy, professionalism, and timely completion
